Visit on June 24 to Little Snoring Airfield
NES Summer Visit Takes Off!
On Wednesday 24th June, NES members with their families and friends were able to take to the air in a four-seat light aircraft from the ex WW2 Little Snoring airfield during a flying evening hosted by the McAully Flying Group.
Although the clear blue sky earlier in the day was obscured by a layer of cloud late in the afternoon, sterling work by
the Flying Group volunteer pilots enabled everyone wishing to fly to do so. The weather initially threatened to deteriorate,
resulting in the first flight having to be cut short, but the cloud base eventually stabilised at around 1200ft with breaks
appearing later in the evening. This allowed low level flights to be made giving some unusual views of the local area and
coastline and an extra flight to made at the end of the evening for those on the first flight to give them their full
flying time.

A barbeque was provided by more volunteers from the Flying Group enabling
everyone to be sustained and enjoy a social occasion.
Many thanks to the McAully Flying Group for providing this opportunity to enjoy a flying experience far removed
from that of a commercial airliner, and for their warm hospitality throughout the evening.
