Visit to the engineering facilities of the North Norfok
                           Railway at Weybourne

On Wednesday June 16th the society visited the Workshop, the Wagon Repair Shop, the Engine Maintainence Shed and the Permanent Way Depot of the North Norfolk Railway based at Weybourne. About 20 members of the society plus a couple of guests attended the event.

The group was met by the Engineering Manager Harvey Smith who gave members a short resume of the railway set up and its connection with the M&GN Preservation Society which are in fact two separate organizations with a close connection. Owing to the numbers we were actually split into four groups and taken on a guided tour of each facility by an extremely knowledgeable and enthusiastic member of each section.

What was most impressive was the extremely high standard of work and the enthusiasm for the work carried out by a few permanent employees and a great number of volunteers.

A thoroughly enjoyable afternoon was had by all members.
